The Telling Stories Festival of Creative Industries is a non-profit project created in 2018 by HSE Faculty of Communications, Media and Design. This summer, for the first time, the festival won’t be held in Moscow, but, instead, will unite and expand the creative communities in St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and Kazan. The capital of Tatarstan will host guests on June 11th, with an exhibition, free lectures, and concerts in some of the main venues around the city.

Telling Stories focuses on innovations, trends and education in the fields of cinema, new media, the games industry, marketing and communications, art, design, and fashion. Over the last four years, the festival has become a platform where opinion leaders and experts share their views on trends, and thousands of participants listen to lectures, participate in workshops, and attend exhibitions, performances and concerts. The organizers of Telling Stories see their mission as uniting those who are interested in the present and future of the creative world.

Tatiana Rivchun, general producer of the festival, Deputy Dean of the HSE Faculty of Communications, Media and Design, Academic Supervisor of the Programme ‘Management in Creative Industries’

‘This is the fifth year we’ve held Telling Stories. We always dreamed that our festival was not only international, but also took place in different Russian cities: we believe that creative industries are the basis for the development and creation of new brands and identities. This is a platform where we meet both great masters and young talent, discuss interesting topics, learn and teach each other new things!’

The first city where the festival will take place in 2022 is Kazan. The programme was created jointly with the local creative community, specifically reflecting their interests.
