HSE Launches Training for Future BRICS Experts
From August 20–23, 2025, the Artek International Children’s Centre (Crimea, Russia) hosted an off-site session of HSE University’s educational and outreach project BRICS International School: New Generation. The school was the first event to take place under the cooperation agreement signed this year between HSE University and Artek.

‘At HSE You Will Experience Many Bright Moments, Events, and Impressions’
On August 26–27, orientation sessions for international students took place at the HSE Cultural Centre. In 2025, a total of 1,260 applicants from abroad were recommended for admission: 644 to bachelor’s programmes and 616 to master’s programmes. Specially for them, the event included tours of the Pokrovka campus and Moscow landmarks.
HSE University and Children’s Oncology Centre Partner to Advance Scientific Research and Practice
HSE University and the Dmitry Rogachev National Medical Research Centre of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology have signed an agreement on scientific and practical cooperation. The document was signed by Nikita Anisimov, HSE University Rector, and Nikolay Grachev, Director General of the Centre.

HSE Shares Its Experience of Urban Strategies at International Summer School in China
In the context of intensifying global geopolitical and technological competition, leading Chinese educational institutions—Zhejiang International Studies University and Peking University—organised an International Summer School. Their joint programme focused on studying global, regional, and urban development strategies. The HSE Faculty of Urban and Regional Development took part in this event.

‘The Goal of Modern Geography Is To Digitise Expert Knowledge and Integrate It with Big Data’
The importance of geographical science is increasing, as is the demand for education in this field. Since 2020, application numbers for Bachelor’s programmes at HSE University’s Faculty of Geography and Geoinformation Technology have climbed by 30%, while interest in Master’s programmes has also expanded, with applications up 10–15%. Nikolay Kurichev, Dean of the Faculty, spoke about this at a press conference hosted by MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

Through Heat and Sand: Egyptology Students’ Fieldwork in Egyptian Museums and Necropolises
Students of the Bachelor’s in Egyptology at the Institute for Oriental and Classical Studies, HSE Faculty of Humanities, spent ten days in the extreme conditions of the Egyptian heat exploring ancient tombs, creating 3D models of reliefs, and mastering Egyptology not from textbooks but through direct engagement with monuments.

‘Student Ideas Shed Light on Key Challenges for Urban Development’
The first international joint summer school of the Vysokovsky Graduate School of Urbanism (GSU) at both the HSE Faculty of Urban and Regional Development and Brest State Pushkin University (BrSU), hosted by BrSU, has come to a close. The programme focused on studying buffer zones along the railway lines encircling the city centre. Participants included students from the GSU’s Urban Planning degree programme, as well as students from BrSU and Brest State Technical University.
