Students of the HSE Bachelor's programme in Business Informatics have developed an eye-catching, user-friendly website for the ‘Soulful Bazar’ project, a large-scale charity fair traditionally held in Moscow on the eve of the New Year. This year, the “Charity Tree” New Year celebration will be held on December 22 at the Expocentre off the Krasnopresnenskaya embankment.

The Turnstile Tango: How the ‘Turnstile Era’ Influenced the Physicality of Muscovites
The turnstiles and entrance gates used in municipal transport not only ensure that passengers pay, but also structure their behavior according to age, body size, ability and speed. Many people must maneuver themselves to pass easily through the rotating arms or swinging gates of an Automated Passage Control System (APCS): passengers cannot be too large or too small and must not walk too quickly or too slowly. Sociologists studied how turnstiles impose uniformity on passengers’ physicality and behaviour.
Night Descends upon HSE at Pokrovka
HSE University hosted its long-awaited student festival ‘Night’ at its building on 11 Pokrovsky Boulevard Thursday. Featuring 12 hours of lectures, games, master classes, music, and conversation. It was a night no students, lecturers or guests had any time for sleep.

MIEM Professor Develops Chatbot to Motivate Students
HSE MIEM Professor Alexander Varnavsky has developed a chatbot to increase the success of implementing a ‘Flipped Classroom’ approach in his teaching. He presented the bot at the International Conference-Competition of Innovative Educational Technology held at Moscow State University, where it took first place in the ‘Information and Pedagogical Technology’ category.

One of the most prestigious awards in the field of digital technology, the Runet Prize, was conferred in Moscow. HSE University was awarded in the category ‘Education and Personnel’.
